The Countdown is on for the 2023 Firecracker 100

The Firecracker 100 is one of the year’s premiere late model events in the United States. Lernerville Speedway is getting set for the 2023 Firecracker 100 June 21st - 23rd. The 17th edition of the event will once again pay $50,000 to the winner of Saturday night's A-main. The Firecracker will feature the STARS of the Lucas Oil Dirt Series as well as some of the top local and regional drivers from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Thanks to Big River Steel who will be the title sponsor for the 17th running of the Firecracker 100 in 2023.

Lucas Oil Series

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is the premiere national touring sanctioning body for dirt late models. The Series will sanction 65 events at 34 different venues across 18 states in 2023. These Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt racecars are on the cutting edge of technology in construction and are powered by 800 horsepower V-8 engines. Nothing is “stock” about these $70,000 machines that provide dirt slinging, sideways, door-to-door racing action lap after lap. The in-your-face excitement of a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event is second to none in motorsports!

Tim McCreadie in victory lane of the 2022 firecracker100

The Lucas Oil dirt series made its first appearance at Lernerville Speedway in 2022. The 2022 Firecracker 100 was won by Tim McCreadie, from Watertown NY. McCreadie started the 100 lap race from the pole and would lead all 100 laps to claim the $50,000 and his second Firecracker 100 victory overall.

Rush Series

For the third year in a row the Rush Crate Late models will be in action during the Firecracker weekend. The Rush A-main will be 50 laps and pay $20,000 to the winner.

The Rush series will time trial Thursday night setting their heat race line-ups which will be held on Friday night. After the first two days the field is set for the B-mains to fill the last few spots for Saturday night's A-main. The race will be right after the Firecracker 100 victory lane interviews.

Florida’s Mark Whitener was victorious in 2022 in the Rush Crate event, earning a $20,000 prize in the 50 lap event.
